Here's a couple posters I've made that turned out especially nice, and what they were for:
This poster for a show I wrote and produced developed out of a couple of elements that had been previously used in the branding and iconography of the show. I love this poster's sparse yet effective use of color and the subtle grainy texture it has, as well as the blending of the three main symbolic elements: the inner shadow of the monster looming over the victim, the star field, and the outer frame monster that consumes the whole poster.
This poster was made for a production of the play She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen. I wanted to poster to be psychedelically colorful and textured to catch the viewers attention.
The color and background imagery serves to support the LGBT+ and monster-fighting elements of the show, respectively.
Another teaser poster for my Alien Cabaret Show, once again playing with the visual of the UFO and the top hats (this time adorned by the pilot in the UFO). Here the text is inspired by the psychedelic posters of the 60's where the font fills up as much space as possible, but I adapted this style with hard angles to eliminate any sense of "groovy".
